A new and verified application profile called Base is available in Coscine. The Base metadata schema is based on the DataCite Kernel 4.0 metadata schema, a widely used standard for describing datasets without regard to discipline. Base contains three mandatory fields (Title, Creator, Creation Date) and two optional fields (Subject Area, Type). We recommend Base primarily as a starting point for creating an individual application profile, as it already contains the essential metadata fields for a possibly intended data publication with DOI assignment.
